Your privacy is foundational to AreWeOkay?. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you use the AreWeOkay? mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum amount of information required to provide the core experience of the app.
Account Information
AreWeOkay? uses anonymous authentication via Google Firebase. When you use the app, a unique identifier (UID) is created that is not linked to your name, email address, phone number, or Apple ID.
The only user-provided identifier we store is the nickname you choose during onboarding.
Relationship Data
We store the daily check-in responses (“signals”) you submit. This data is securely stored in a cloud database and is only accessible to:
- You, and
- The single partner linked to your relationship through a unique relationship ID
Individual responses are never shown to your partner.
Subscription Information
Subscriptions are managed by Apple and RevenueCat. AreWeOkay? does not collect, store, or have access to your payment details, credit card information, or billing data.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to:
- Enable daily check-ins between linked partners
- Display shared relationship status and history
- Maintain streaks and check-in continuity
- Verify active subscription entitlements
- Send optional local reminders if enabled by you
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data for advertising or marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage and Security
All data is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure, which applies industry-standard security practices. Access to relationship data is restricted using database security rules so that only the two linked partners can access shared information.
4. Third-Party Services
AreWeOkay? relies on the following services to operate:
- Google Firebase – Anonymous authentication and secure database storage
- RevenueCat – Subscription entitlement management
- Apple App Store – App distribution and secure payment processing
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policies.
5. Your Choices and Data Control
Because accounts are anonymous, you may remove your data at any time by:
- Disconnecting your partner, or
- Resetting your app data from within the app settings
These actions permanently delete your relationship link and check-in history from our servers. Once deleted, this information cannot be recovered.
6. Not a Medical or Counseling Service
AreWeOkay? is a reflection and awareness tool. It does not provide professional, medical, psychological, or counseling advice.
